Our Design Process
Creating personalized, unique landscapes that are imaginative, functional, and environmentally sensitive, are the challenges and opportunities we strive for at Advance Landscape Systems. Our approach and collaboration with our clients has proven the key to our success over the years. From the initial consultation to its completion,we always have a clear understanding of your project's goals and budget requirements. Through the initial consutation and careful planning, site analysis, project development, design and drawings, we'll transform your property into a stunning landscape exclusively for you, providing maximum enjoyment for your family and friends.
1.Consultation
Our initial consultation begins with scheduled appointment with our clientele' on site, to discuss your landscape and architectural objectives. We discuss your ideas and become more familiar with your property, then performing a thorough site analysis of the property to create a framework and discuss possible designs to define a scope for your project. You can review our portfolio, which has examples of completed projects and provides us with insight as to your personal objectives, aesthetic sensibilities, and budgetary outlook. We define the sequence of tasks likely to be involved in realizing your project and assess your expectations for time and completion. The initial meeting with the customer is completely free of charge and we work efficiently to design a landscape that's both sustainable within your budget and vision you desire. The proposal is made within the next 3-4 days of the consultation.
2.Conceptual Design
The first step in the Design Development process is to discuss with the client specific goals for the project. This enables both parties to have a mutually agreeable expectation, budget and timeline.
Next, we analyze the extent to which existing conditions affect your desired goals. There may be a range of alternative design solutions. Discussing the pros and cons of alternatives helps us focus and select the design direction that most closely fits your needs and objectives. From this emerges a design that is then drawn as a conceptual plan, “to scale,” using CAD or 3D software. We review this with you along with necessary sketches, illustrative details and graphics, and a preliminary cost projection for the proposed scope of work.
We also encourage continued client participation through site and office meetings to review proposed construction materials and potential budget alternatives.
3.Site Analysis
Our design process & consultation continues as we develop a plan of existing conditions that becomes the foundation for further design work. We spend time on site to survey and evaluate existing landscape and architectural features, giving us first-hand knowledge of design considerations such as noise, drainage patterns, and the presence of pleasurable or unpleasant vistas to and from the site. We photograph the site to assist in the design development process and will digitally survey each site to accurately represent the topography and features of each property providing reccomendations for any necessary engineering and design possibilities . We will also incorporate information obtained from collaborating engineering and architectural professionals.
Lastly, we will investigate and find solutions to any potential local, state, or federal regulations that could be a roadblock for your project.
4.Presentation
During our second meeting, the vision for your property is unveiled. Advance includes a fully detailed, itemized proposal to help you understand the value and options available. We encourage your feedback at this stage, and will further refine the design based on your comments.
After approval of the design and budget present, the process moves toward implementation and comprehensive overall plan is developed, which includes detailed specifications for the various components of the project, such as grading, planting, lighting, and construction details. Together with the client, decisions are made regarding any changes, scheduling and final budgets.
At this point, Advance Landscape will assist in the important, yet complex
permitting issues that often impact landscape architectural projects obtaining any necessary permits.
5.Build \ Install
Throughout the construction period, Advance Landscape plays an active supervisory role in constant contact with our clientele' of any possible modifications to the design if site conditions or expanded opportunities warrant. We assist in the layout of construction components, approve properly completed work, and manage any additional requisitions for payment for any change in modification work orders approved by the client first. We work closely with our client to see that every detail is properly implemented and strive to ensure that the project is completed on time, on budget, and in a professional manner.
